Manok Mabuhay!

MANOK MABUHAYManok Mabuhay! Project is a backyard contract broiler production established with the objective of alleviating poverty in the country side. Its main beneficiaries are the common farmers and other marginalized sectors of the society on the country side.

Manok Mabuhay! revolves around the innovative idea of offering sustainable alternative economic opportunities for the common farmer using idle family labor to generate extra income for their family. The project aims to develop a social enterprise model in the community utilizing developmental concepts in the field of agribusiness supply chain and social entrepreneurship. This social enterprise model using the contract growing scheme enables the common farmers to organize and empower themselves economically, socially, and politically that allows them to participate in business ventures with big corporate businesses.

To come up with a socially acceptable and sustainable model, the following elements must be present:

  1. Corporate Partner – provides production inputs, technical support, and ensures market
  2. LGUs – provides legal clearance, business permits, and certifications
  3. Microfinance Institution – provides housing loans
  4. Farmers Association – production center composed of farmer growers
  5. Social Enterprise – serving as consolidator and manager of the business ventures of farmers

Currently, Punla Sa Tao Foundation has three managed areas in Laguna namely: Cavinti, Siniloan, and Luisiana with a current volume capacity of 30,000 birds per growing cycle and with a potential volume capacity of 100,000 every cycle. The Project is expected to be replicated in nine other Luzon municipalities at the end of the year. The expansion will be a combination of Punla owned operations and ‘franchised’ or partnered operations.
To support our expansion and replication plans, Punla is now open for partnership or franchising to those interested organizations, groups, associations, and private individuals that are willing to invest and manage grow out operations on their preferred areas.
